Little Peter Rabbit

July 31, 2008
“Little Peter Rabbit has a fly upon his nose

Little Peter Rabbit has a fly upon his nose

Little Peter Rabbit has a fly upon his nose

And it flips and it flops and it flew away.”

I started to reminisce my childhood years when I heard my son practiced singing the nursery song in his kiddie school last night.  He kept on singing over and over again because he could not sing correctly the whole song.  He has memorized the lines but could not get the right tune.  It was just so great that I know exactly the tune but i could not remember the lines.  And we end up singing the song together perfectly!  Hahaha..what a match!

Are You This Faithful?

July 9, 2008

During my husband’s graduation ceremony in law school just this March, a graduate of Doctors in Business Administration was tasked to give a speech.  In his speech, he shared his experiences and terrible tests that he went through while taking the degree which almost made him give up.

He was among the pioneer batch of the school’s DBA degree but was not able to finish in time for some reasons like he was also working at the same time.  He said to himself that he could not make it and thought that he should not be enrolling in the course but his mentors talked to him and adviced him to finish it and so he did.  On the first phase of making his dissertation, his mother in law who was living with them was hospitalized for mild stroke.  He and his wife have to attend to her since all of their children going to school.  He lost his concentration and left his work undone.  In the next semester, he tried to continue what he has not yet started.  Again, while he was making his paper, another problem came. They have to bring his son to the hospital for dengue.  Several trials have come his way during those times.  The next year, his brother-in-law died of a fatal car accident, his mother-in-law was to be brought to the hospital every now and then and their finances has gotten too tight already.  They had to ask for assistance from relatives and some very close friends.  The biggest trial that went his way was when his wife was diagnosed with an advanced stage of leukemia.   He felt that the world was turning its back at him.  He felt so devastated and almost blamed God for his life.  The thought of finishing his doctorate was completely gone and admitted that he could never be a doctor!

Just as his life had turned dark, light started to cast his way.  Friends came in to help him and opportunities were at hand.  His hopes came alive and seen a bright light ahead.  He could not believe that with the trials he had, he will still be able to achieve his dreams and indeed, he is now a Doctor! Well, God has his way of showing His undying love for us.  He will never forsake His children nor put us in harm for so long as we keep our faith in HIM.

Trying To Make the Right Decision

July 5, 2008

Our life is actually our decision.  It is because in almost every moment in every day, we have to make a decision.  What we want to do and how it is  going to be depends on it.  Sometimes we have to make sound decisions especially on issues concerning significant matters in our lives.

Right now, I may say that I am standing on the crossroads, one is myself and my family and the other is my career.  At this point in time, I guess I have to make a decision.  Both are very important to me.  My career is a realization of my aspirations.  It is my responsibility to the community and it has been my source of living for almost a decade now.  It has given me security, something that me and my family can depend on.  On the other hand, I feel I need to spend my time now with myself and my family.  My kids are growing up and I want to be a part of it.   I also want to build my home just as how a mother should be.   And most of all,  I’d like find out what more can I do than just being an office employee.

Whatever it is that I might choose, I hope it is right.  The important thing is that when we decide, it is what our hearts dictate.
